Mags Ralston, creator and owner of Isle of Lewis Candle Co., began making candles in November 2016. Her love of candle making came almost through luck as she responded to a local advert selling small jars, which she had planned to use for crafts. However, the seller was also including candle-making supplies with the jars and she immediately snapped them up.
Mags has gained lots of support through local craft markets and various stockists on the island but wanted to take the business that little bit further - the world wide web! This decision also brought about a re-brand as the company was originally called 'Taigh Dubh Candles'. Although this name went down very well locally, it was more difficult to translate to those further afield who may not speak Gaelic - this also meant it was harder for them to find it online. Mags and her family still wanted to keep the products island connections in its name which is when the 'Isle of Lewis Candle Co.' was born.
Each candle is lovingly created and tested in the Isle of Lewis Candle Co work shed. Which is based at Mags' home in Point on the Isle of Lewis. As you will see, there are huge variety of scents to choose from. Mags and daughter Kirsty spend a lot of time researching scents and testing wax/wicks etc to ensure only the highest quality candles are produced for their customers. Isle of Lewis Candle Co. only use Eco-friendly premium scents, wicks and wax in all of their products.
Aside from the Tin Candles, Wax Melts, Tea Lights & Chessmen.
